- An ever increasing number of Spindles use Hybrid Bearings with CERBEC balls for:
Higher Speeds
Dry Machining
Aluminum Machining
|
Longer Bearing Life
Higher Acceleration/Deceleration
Higher Part Accuracy
|
- CERBEC® balls enable spindles to operate at higher and higher speeds.
- Lower speed spindles (500K-650K dmN) operate with longer service life.
- CERBEC® balls enable grease lubrication at higher and higher spindle speeds.
- Hybrid Ball Screws using CERBEC balls run cooler, faster and more accurately.
Genuine CERBEC ® silicon nitride balls are used in Machine Tool Spindles to improve Bearing Performance. CERBEC balls are lighter, stiffer, smoother, harder, corrosion resistant, require less lubrication and have lower thermal expansion than
their steel counterparts. Using Hybrid Bearings, spindle designers can:
- Reach higher speeds (up to 50% faster) with
- lower vibration and noise levels.
- Simplify lubrication systems. Lengthen service life.
An increasing percentage of spindles use hybrid bearings for a variety of machining applications. Some examples: Aircraft producers can machine larger and more complex aluminum components in less time with higher precision. Wood products and composites can be dry machined at extremely high speeds without contamination risk from oil-mist lubrication systems because hybrid bearings can operate with grease lubrication. Higher stiffness hybrid bearings yield product with higher precision, and better surface finish while maintaining longer tool life. Increased spindle acceleration and deceleration rates maximizes actual cutting time increasing productivity.
