STABLE PRELOAD & REDUCED CONTACT ANGLE CHANGE
Cerbec® balls in a hybrid bearing will expand 75% less than steel balls for the same temperature change. This reduced thermal expansion helps offset several other factors that tend to increase preloads as speeds and operating temperatures increase. Therefore, running preload remains stabler with reduced change in operating contact angle.
Also emergency running conditions after lubrication failure can be maintained for longer time. This is because a higher temperature use can be tolerated before radial internal interference and bearing seizure occurs.
